How does the application process work?
- You’ll be asked to submit information about yourself and your organization, along with a teaching plan describing how you intend to use Push in your classroom (see What should be prepared before starting an application? for more information).
- We’ll review each application in the order we receive them – please be aware that the review process can take up to 3 months, depending on the volume of applications submitted.
- We’ll get in touch via email to let you know the decision. If your application is successful we’ll ask you to provide a preferred date for your Push units to be delivered.
What should be prepared before starting an application?
1. Check your organization has a Live multi-seat license version 9, 10 or 11
If your organization doesn’t have a Live license you can now get Live Intro for free.
2. Have your organization’s Ableton.com user account details to hand
You’ll be asked at the start of your application to verify the compatibility of your organization’s license. You can do this one of two ways:
- Log into your organization’s Ableton.com user account
or - Enter the email address your organization’s license is registered to and the software serial number for one instance of Live currently in use (you can find the serial number by going to Live > About Live [Mac] or Help > About Live [PC])
3. Prepare a short summary describing your background as a music educator
Your summary should be no more than 200 words and include information on how long you’ve been a music educator and what type of classes you’re currently teaching.
4. Prepare a teaching plan explaining how you intend to use Live and Push in your classroom
Your teaching plan can be produced in whatever format you like. You’ll be asked to upload a copy of the plan no bigger than 25 MB in size. It should answer the following questions:
- What is your teaching concept?
- What role does music technology play in your teaching?
- What age group of students do you plan to use Live and Push with?
- What musical skills do you plan to teach with Live and Push?
- Will Live and Push be used as part of your regular teaching or for a specific extracurricular project?
- What opportunities do you see Live and Push providing your students?
- Where do you see challenges in integrating Live and Push into your teaching?
5. Ask your school principal, program director or person responsible for the funding of your organization to provide a letter of endorsement for your application.
You’ll be asked to upload a copy of the letter no bigger than 25MB in size. The letter should indicate the following:
- Support for your plan to teach with Live and Push
